Another Hero Found

Our search for partners to serve the “least of these” leads us to Uganda

Dear Friends,

Dan and I recently returned from Uganda, where we were privileged once again to serve the Lord by serving the poor.

Our first week started in the city of Entebbe, where we hosted a Small Business Training (SBT) conference for a very special group of parents and a new Heaven’s Family micro-banker named Victoria Namusisi. One of our special blessings from God is the partners He joins us with in this work—they are truly modern-day heroes of our faith! Victoria is one such woman of God.

Victoria is a lady with a heart the size of Uganda who, 15 years ago, left a successful career in the office of the president of Uganda to start Bright Kids Uganda, a home for street kids and orphans. Victoria is “mom” to many grateful kids. Victoria also established Advocates for Children with Disabilities (ACD), the first-ever support group for parents of special needs kids in Uganda!

ACD hosted our first SBT in Entebbe. These parents and their kids are among the most vulnerable. That’s because they need to start businesses that will allow them to care for their special needs kids, but have no access to capital. With Victoria as our new micro-banker, coupled with the training these parents have received, there is renewed hope among the parents that they can succeed at starting businesses that will help them provide for their families.

Many thanks to those who have contributed to the Micro-Loan Ministry this year—you are the ones making all of this possible!
