A Note from David

With a little friend in Myanmar

Are you wondering what 2013 holds in store? I certainly am. I suspect there will be plenty of surprises, good and bad. I am, however, reminded of that old saying, “I don’t know what the future holds, but I know who holds the future.”

Whatever the new year brings us, it will be filtered through our sovereign and loving God. We may not understand everything that He allows to happen, but we can trust that He will be causing “all things to work together for good” (Rom. 8:28).

My personal goal this year, like last year, is to be more fruitful. I won’t be able to accomplish that by working more hours, because I’m maxed out there. So I hope to work smarter. A sharper ax can cut more wood. Please pray that God will sharpen mine, and I’ll pray that God will sharpen yours! “How blessed is the man who finds wisdom” (Prov. 3:13)! — David

Parting Shot: What's in a Name?

We couldn’t help but wonder what the story was behind the name of this Presbyterian church in Myanmar. I’m happy to report that, while I stood for this photo, I could hear a good-sized crowd inside the church all praying out loud, something more typical of Pentecostals than quiet Presbyterians! (And it wasn’t even Sunday morning.)
