How much better it is to get wisdom than gold!
(Prov. 16:16).

We all know from reading Jesus’ words how important it is that we, as His followers, care for the “least of these” (Matt. 25:31-46). But equally important is how we care for the poor among our spiritual family. The best of intentions can result in the worst outcomes. Charity can create unhealthy dependencies and destroy incentive, locking people permanently inside a prison of poverty. So we need to give wisely.

The best way to help the poor is to give them opportunities and tools they need to help themselves, always making sure that they have “skin in the game.” Education, micro-credit and grants for small business start ups fit well into this category, and Heaven’s Family is involved in all three. Thanks for trusting us to wisely steward your contributions that are making a difference around the world.
