The history of Heaven's Family

Heaven's Family was founded in 2002 by David and Becky Servant. David had previously served for 24 years as a pastor and traveling teacher, ministering in scores of the world's poorest countries, and Becky was always active in their churches.

Heaven's Family's second employee—David and Becky's oldest daughter—Charity, was hired in 2004, just after she earned an associate's degree in Communications from YWAM's University of the nations. In September of 2005, David and Becky's son, Stephen, joined the staff, and all three worked together in their home office. In those days, their daily commute to work was very short—they just got out of bed and walked downstairs!

Since then, Heaven's Family's staff has increased to 16 people, who now work out of rented office space. Some of the self-supported staff work remotely, such as Bob and Carole Collins in Lindale, Texas, and Chuck King in Ford City, Pennsylvania.

Since beginning in 2002, the ministry's focus hasn't changed. Heaven's Family continues to equip Christian leaders and serve the poor—the "least of these"—in the world's poorest nations.
