The first paragraph of my July E-Teaching, titled, "A Tribute to Michael," was written to lead readers to think that my article was a tribute to Michael Jackson. The second paragraph, however, and those that follow, make it very clear that I was actually writing about Michael the archangel in the first paragraph and the paragraphs that follow. Unfortunately, some readers did not read past the first paragraph.

The entire point of my article, which contained several other tongue-in-cheek paragraphs besides the first one, was that all of the July focus on Michael Jackson by the media and by his fans amounted to idolatry, as Michael Jackson is of no comparison to his namesake, Michael the archangel, who himself is of no comparison to God, which thus drops Michael Jackson down to nothing. To me it seemed tragic that so many people around the world were enamored with 50-year-old Michael Jackson, but after 2,000 years, the Son of God remains ignored.
