I Will Trust in Your Love

David's thoughts on this song...

Just about every believer can, at one time or another, relate to the biblical character Job. Our circumstances just don't make any sense, and we are tempted to question God's love. But the best advice I've ever heard for those times is this: When you face what you don't understand, fall back on what you do understand. Regardless of what happens, it doesn't change the fact that Jesus died for us. I wrote I Will Trust in Your Love with a special person in mind, a friend named Danielle who had cystic fibrosis. Danielle ultimately received a lung transplant which prolonged her life for a few years. Now she is with the Lord. We miss her dearly.

Barren trees • Fallen leaves • Scattered like my dreams • Colder days • Winter grays • Cloud my memories • But I know • Under the snow • Tulips wait for Spring • Hope will bloom • Very soon • Then my heart will be set free to sing •• When my heart is full of pain • When I face what I can't explain • I will remember Calvary • Where You proved Your love for me • Even though I don't understand • I will cling to Your nail-scarred hand • I will trust in Your love • I will trust in Your love, my Lord •• Setting sun • Shadows run • Haunting questions call • Night begins • Darkness wins • Silent teardrops fall • But the eastern sky • Will grow bright • Chasing night away • Birds will sing • Dawn will bring • Rays of hope and sunshine to my day •• Wind and rain • Hurt and pain • Are often what life gives • But in everything • I can sing • Because I know that my Redeemer lives
