Africa, Here We Come

Going on your behalf to meet those we’re helping

Dear Friends,

This week I’ll be boarding a plane to visit ministry partners in four East Africa nations: DR Congo, Rwanda, Uganda and Kenya.

Thanks to your generous gifts to the Food Ministry we are together changing lives by providing sustainable forms of food—the kind that lays eggs!—and bulk foods and milk to provide the physical nutrition needed so they have the strength to be ministered to spiritually as well.

While there I will be visiting places where we are currently providing nourishing foods and milk for the hungry, as well as meeting new ministry contacts. Some of my stops include Christian schools in Kenya, the Women Recycled Program (formerly called Food for Work program) in DR Congo that teaches vocational and life skills to destitute, abused women, a hospital caring for Rwandan genocide survivors, and two children’s homes in Uganda.

Will you join me in prayer for the many members of our spiritual family in these places who are suffering from hunger, malnutrition and ongoing food instability? Pray that they may be abundantly fed, both physically and spiritually with Jesus, the true Bread of Life.

Thank you so much for your prayers and gifts to the Food Ministry. You are so appreciated! Below are just a few photos of some of the lives that you are touching in such a meaningful, life-sustaining way.

These beautiful eggs are produced from a school chicken project funded by donations to the Food Ministry, and these girls at right prove that collecting eggs is fun!
