“I Feel Loved”

I have such a wonderful praise report to share with you from the Leprosy Ministry’s team in Goma, D.R. Congo, who are faithfully ministering to the leprosy patients living in the Mugunga 3 IDP Camp. This dedicated team of individuals pour out their lives sacrificially for the "least of these."

A Picture Worth 1,001 Words

"Tell us again why you want to take our picture," insisted sister Wang, in disbelief. Pastor Paul Fang patiently repeated his request: “We want to give a large-sized framed portrait to you." "Normally we don’t get to see our pictures,” came her hesitant reply. “Most of the time we don’t want to see them anyway.”

A Bed of Rock

"Why can't they donate these nice gifts to us, instead of wasting them on worthless people?" This was the complaint uttered by occupants of the Mugunga IDP (Internally Displaced People) Camp outside of Goma, DR Congo. Minister of Mercy

To learn that leprosy is alive and thriving in DR Congo was not a surprise to me this year. So much sorrow and wickedness seem to flourish there, including civil unrest, corruption, rape and crime, that the prevalence of this dreaded disease appears to be just one more curse.

Twilight with the Aged

Every time we visit the leprosy colonies where the Heaven’s Family’s Leprosy Ministry is working, we see more and more tender expressions of what the generous contributions of many of you reading this are making possible. My husband, Bob, and I just returned last month from visiting several of these communities in the Hyderabad, India, area where we have been “sowing” Jesus’ love for the past seven years.

The Gift of a Lifetime

While visiting a leprosy colony in Msambweni, Kenya last summer, I arrived just in time to witness a truly remarkable sight. Measurements were being taken to provide new shoes, prostheses and assistive devices for patients with ulcerated and degenerated feet and legs! Peter, the director of Blessed Camp, had taken a step of faith in inviting a rehabilitation team from Mombasa to assess the situation. The only problem, however, was that he didn't have the funds to pay for these much-needed shoes and orthotic aids.
