A Beautiful Place with a Terrible Secret

"They had no women," Mark told me and my wife Karin, to our disbelief. "Majuwa Village was so poor they sold their women and children to sex traffickers," he explained further. As directors of the Human Trafficking & Slavery Ministry, Karin and I were learning much about how young women become victims here in Nepal, a small Asian nation sandwiched between India and China.

How to Soften a Mother’s Heart

Cambodia is a nation with a dark past, but a bright future. We're hearing this optimism repeated over and over these two weeks as we visit many of the projects you are involved with here through the Human Trafficking & Slavery Ministry. But this hopefulness doesn't come from the nation's political process, which is awash in corruption. Bound for Nepal

You may recall last spring when devastating earthquakes rocked Nepal, home to the Himalayan Mountains and Mount Everest. Jeff traveled there in May to help survivors, and also learn more about the scourge of human trafficking and slavery in that nation—a problem only made worse in the months since the earthquake.

Bandana Party!

We felt such joy meeting some of the young girls rescued from slavery (a culturally-accepted, centuries-old practice known as restavek) in Haiti during our visit last January. We are also delighted that Lynne, one of our team members on that trip who happens to be a local friend, continues to stay involved with the girls.
