Lang Vay has come a Long Way
Clean Water at Last for an Impoverished Village in Vietnam
A child was asked how their life was changed by the new well, “I bathe in this water, it’s very clean and fresh, I don’t feel itchy anymore!”
Twenty five years ago Lang Vay, an impoverished village near the Vietnam-Laos border, was visited for the first time by Christians who shared the gospel with them. The people are of the Bru tribe who traditionally practice ancestor worship. Three families gave their lives to Jesus and today, the number of Christians in the village has grown to 100.
But they were suffering with a terrible problem. The village had no access to clean water.
The people used the polluted river to drink, cook, and bathe with. Pig farming waste flowed down the river past the village and animals shared the water, too. They suffered with much sickness and skin diseases.
Now, you have changed their lives thanks to your generous gifts to the Heaven’s Family Safe Water Ministry, a deep well was successfully drilled and the people are now enjoying clean water and experiencing better health! The well has also helped to create unity among the people and has given greater opportunity to share the gospel with unbelieving neighbors and to soften hearts toward Jesus.
A heartfelt thank you for your gifts to the Safe Water Ministry, you are making a life-changing and life-saving difference in many lives!
May all who drink from this well come to know Jesus, who is Living Water!
Lina, a mom of the village, spoke with sincere gratitude, “Thank God and thank donors. We didn’t have clean water before and now we don’t have to worry about water anymore. We use this water for drinking and cooking. We thank the donors who helped us with the well as well as thank brothers in the village who offered their labor to help complete the well.”
