Stories & Testimonies

Below are just a few of the many testimonies we receive about lives being impacted and transformed by the Leprosy Ministry of Heaven’s Family.

Twilight with the Aged

Every time we visit the leprosy colonies where the Heaven’s Family’s Leprosy Ministry is working, we see more and more tender expressions of what the generous contributions of many of you reading this are making possible. My husband, Bob, and I just returned last month from visiting several of these communities in the Hyderabad, India, area where we have been “sowing” Jesus’ love for the past seven years.

A Day with Children

Having just returned from visiting Hyderabad, India, I thought you might like to take a peek at the encouraging work you are doing to build hope for the future among the residents of Moula Ali leprosy colony. Come with me by way of the video link below as I visit with many of the children who, because of sponsors like you, are able to attend school.

The Gift of a Lifetime

While visiting a leprosy colony in Msambweni, Kenya last summer, I arrived just in time to witness a truly remarkable sight. Measurements were being taken to provide new shoes, prostheses and assistive devices for patients with ulcerated and degenerated feet and legs! Peter, the director of Blessed Camp, had taken a step of faith in inviting a rehabilitation team from Mombasa to assess the situation. The only problem, however, was that he didn't have the funds to pay for these much-needed shoes and orthotic aids.

Saying Goodbye

Many of you who have followed the Leprosy Ministry over the years will recognize the story of Eliah, a precious saint whose inspiring faith won my heart and caused me to first share his story in December of 2014 (click here to read). He has now gone on to be with the Lord but, if you will allow me, I would like to take this opportunity to give his life a final tribute.

A Place of Rejects Becomes a “Blessed Camp”

How many young, newly married couples do you know who would give up the comfort of their lives and move from a big city and their high-paying jobs to serve others in a small, coastal town? This month I met with just such a couple whose time is now spent selflessly serving a small community of patients diagnosed with a severe disease in Msambweni, Kenya.

A Divine Delivery

During a previous visit to a leprosy colony in Hyderabad, India, I had the pleasure of meeting a sweet-spirited woman who beseeched me to pray with her for the Lord to bless her with a child. Like Hannah in the Bible, this woman was barren and, having been so for many years, longed to be a mother and was in need of renewed faith. Our team fervently prayed with her and eagerly awaited to hear good news the following year.
