Stories & Testimonies

Below are just a few of the many testimonies we receive about lives being impacted and transformed by the National Missionary Ministry of Heaven’s Family.

Reconciled Rider

How could a father treat his own children that way? I wondered in disbelief. As a mother, shock (and anger) rushed through me as I listened to Jackson Muthoni tell me his story as we stood on the sidelines of a soccer field in Wamuini, Kenya. Last year I told you about an entire Kenyan soccer team that turned to Christ after their troublemaking captain, Manu, was transformed by the gospel. That miracle was the result of the ministry of an evangelist named Herbert, who was able to reach the soccer team's village on a bicycle provided by Heaven's Family. Jackson is a member of that soccer team, and he, too, experienced the transforming power of the gospel.

A Win-Win Situation

Peter Cung is a Heaven's Family-sponsored national missionary. He knows that God has called him to serve his own people in Myanmar. So every day, he ministers to the poor and preaches the gospel, and he often sees people repent and make Jesus their Lord. He knows from experience that not everyone responds to God's invitation the first time, so he is patient.

A Book, a Bike, & 40 Churches

She’s never slept in a bed. She’s never stood under a shower. She lives in a mud hut. She’s an amazing woman of God. I first heard about Selina Akorio in 2006 from one of our Kenyan ministry partners who, after reading The Disciple-Making Minister, became very passionate about making disciples and planting house churches. Selina was one of his early disciples, and she was soon making disciples of her own among her people, the Turkana, a primitive tribe of northern Kenya. In Selina's first six months of ministry, she planted ten house churches. I wrote an article about her in the December 2006 issue of Heaven's Family's magazine.
