Smiling Faces…Because of Your Help!

The beautiful smile of Sarah, who is cared for at Rapha Orphanage in Kalaymyo, Myanmar.

We talk a lot about self-sufficiency and micro-loans here at Orphan’s Tear. That’s because we are so excited about empowering others to lift themselves out of poverty, thereby seeing lives transformed. We’re also psyched about seeing your gifts recycled to help multiple orphanages! In this way, we believe that we are better stewards of the funds you have entrusted to us. Thank you so much for your continued confidence in the work of this ministry. Only together can we bear this fruit!

I often share with you about how orphanage directors have started small businesses to become more self-sufficient and teach their children how to support themselves when they become adults. This month, however, I want to give you a snapshot of just a few of the hundreds of orphans whose lives you are impacting. Their photos, with brief captions that tell their stories, are below.

Lal Ro Hlua’s parents are both mentally ill, so relatives brought him to Jehovah Jireh where he is taught about Jesus

Kui Bu was abandoned by his father after his mother died. Now he happily lives at Rhema Orphanage!

Lal Din Mawi’s parents died in a car accident and relatives brought her to Peniel Orphanage. She aspires to become a nurse.

Maung Ki’s parents died when he was very young. At Bethel Orphanage he loves to work in their small garden and play soccer (but not in the garden!).

Ma Nge’s father died and her mother is mentally ill. She lives at Bethesda Orphanage and loves to sing!

Cung Neih Mawi of Beulah Orphanage loves to sing and dance

Biak Hlei Thawng and Ro Pui are orphans who became best friends when they arrived at New Eden Orphanage

David Thang is an aspiring writer at Living Hope Orphanage

Joel of Jehovah Jireh was abandoned by his mother after his father died. Joel loves to play practical jokes!

Thank you so much for the difference you are making in the lives of these—and many more—children!

To improve the lives of orphans,

Elisabeth Walter
Director, Orphan’s Tear division
