Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations. That’s the goal of the Prison Ministry & Rehab Fund, and I’m happy to report that in 2014, we did just that!
A good example of the fruit of this disciple-making ministry is evident in our partnership with an on-fire chaplain in Cameroon, Africa. In October he reported that, with the help of Heaven’s Family, 460 men gave their lives to Christ in four different prisons. He asks us to pray as he expands his efforts into regions of Cameroon dominated by Islam.
I’m also very excited to report progress in the construction of three after-care facilities, two in Mexico and one in Kenya, where ex-offenders will be trained in ministry and vocational skills. Our partner in Kenya is himself an ex-offender who has won the support of the national government of Kenya. With our help, he has begun the construction of a live-in facility for juvenile offenders. In my opinion, and in the opinion of most chaplains with whom I speak around the world, after-care facilities are the greatest need.
Another exciting ministry in which we are personally engaged is the Malachi Dads program in the largest maximum-security prison in our home state of Texas. Malachi Dads was born out of a move of God in Louisiana’s Angola Prison that connected the hearts of inmates back to their children to break the generational cycle of crime. We challenge the inmates to become men of God and to be a lifelong influence in the lives of their children. We’re seeing incredible results.
In 2014, we were blessed to invest $47,482 towards our goal of reaching inmates and ex-offenders in the USA, Mexico, Kenya, Cameroon, DR Congo and Cuba.
Thank you so much for your prayers and support!
