Our lives don’t fit into a “typical” Christian storybook, but we’re very grateful that God has sovereignly put us together to serve in fulfilling His will. In our earlier years, we believed in Jesus, but it wasn’t until we were each in our early 40s—in different states and different places in life—that we completely submitted our lives to Jesus and asked for changed hearts. Years later we met at church, and after we both read The Love Dare and committed to having a relationship that would be God-centered instead of self-centered. We were married in 2012.
Bruce met David Servant at a 2002 pastors’ conference in the Republic of Georgia, and it’s been a relationship of mission work, Christian fellowship, and a personal friendship ever since, and Patty has been blessed from this relationship too.
In 2014, Bruce joined Heaven’s Family as a trustee, and in 2015, began overseeing the micro-loan program in the country of Myanmar (formerly Burma) for the Micro-Loan Ministry.
Together, we co-director the Widows & Abandoned Women Ministry, which supplies grants for widows and abandoned women to start small businesses, to help with medical costs, and to generally improve their living conditions. Our vision is to reach out to more women in more nations, and to consistently show God’s love to them, and follow the words of Paul when he said, “Take care of any widow who has no one else to care for her” (1 Timothy 5:3).
Our Lord has given us hearts to serve, and even though we can’t all travel to faraway places to help and encourage the “least of these,” we are grateful that we can be your representatives.
