How Will I Get to Know My Child?
We strive to do our very best to keep you up to date, albeit from afar, in the day-to-day lives of your sponsored children. When you sponsor an orphan, you are automatically subscribed to receive our monthly mini-updates highlighting things happening within the ministry of Orphan's Tear, and often learning things about the orphanages where your sponsored children live. Additionally, every quarter, you can get updated news about the orphanage where your child lives by logging in to your online account. Once logged in, you can also download pictures of your sponsored child to print or use as desktop wallpaper on your computer.
We are committed to doing our best to provide annually-updated photos of Orphan’s Tear-sponsored children by working with our indigenous overseas partners. We will inform you by email when we post new photos of one of your sponsored children in your online account at OrphansTear.org
And remember, when you sponsor an orphan through Orphan’s Tear, 100% of what we receive from you is sent to the Christian orphanage where your child lives.
Can I correspond with my child?
Administrating a correspondence program adds considerable expense to child sponsorship programs, such as international postage and the employment of translators. We want to keep our sponsorship costs as low as possible. Additionally, children whose sponsors don’t write as frequently as other children’s sponsors can be wrongly led to believe that they are less loved. Sponsors are often burdened with enough neglected responsibilities that they don’t need even more nagging guilt regarding neglected correspondence with their orphan. Finally, because some sponsors provide for numerous orphans, for them, correspondence with all their children would be impossible. Although it is not possible to correspond with your child, it is sometimes possible to visit your child at his or her orphanage in a group tour. (For information, please contact us.)
