A Step Forward, With A New Leg

Karen received surgery for her leg, enabling her to attend school once again

Karen, a twenty seven year old woman living in Kenya, had stopped attending school because of a severe infection in her leg. Although her dream had always been to receive an education, when her leg became infected and began to leak puss and emit a foul odor, she was too embarrassed to continue attending.

Karen’s leg was infected for over seven years and during that time she continued to live at home with her parents, did not go back to school due to embarrassment, suffered with an infected wound on her leg, and became depressed about the state of her life.

But because of your generosity, Karen was able to receive antibiotics that helped fight off her infection and later a skin graft surgery to completely heal the wound on her leg. Since receiving this surgery, Karen has re-enrolled in school and has a more positive outlook on life. She no longer suffers from shame and embarrassment and is excited for what her future holds.

Thank you for changing Karen’s life by helping to support our Critical Medical Needs Ministry. Because of your kindness, Karen is just one of many individuals around the globe who’s lives you have impacted in such a big way. Thank you for helping Karen to take a step forward toward her future by helping heal her leg!
