No More Soup!

Scovia can breathe and eat again, thanks to a simple surgery you helped provide her

Dear Family,

Scovia lived for seven years in excruciating pain from a goiter. A medical condition that only requires a simple outpatient surgery to resolve, but was far too expensive for Scovia to afford as a poor mother living in Kenya.

Scovia first noticed a small lump on her throat as a young teenager and did not think much of it. As she continued to age, she noticed the lump continued to grow and become more painful. Eventually, the goiter became so large that it kept Scovia from being able to swallow, limiting her to only being able to eat soft and liquid foods like broths.

As a new wife and mother, Scovia struggled to take care of her home and child while living with extreme pain and in a state of constant hunger from not being able to eat. But because of your help, Scovia was recently able to receive surgery to remove her painful goiter.
