A Word from David

Any ministry that cares about the “least of these” cares about children. According to Jesus, children are citizens of God’s kingdom (see Matt. 18:3, 10; 19:14). Thus, it could well be true that more than 90% of all of those who fit Jesus’ description of the “least of these”—which includes being members of His spiritual family—are children.

This special issue of our bi-monthly magazine focuses on some of Heaven’s Family’s work among that 90%. Through child sponsorship, orphan care, foster care, education, advocacy, food supplementation, water purification, micro-credit and more, we’re making a difference in the lives of children all over the world, all because of the compassion of folks like you.

Rejoice as you read the good reports that follow! And please continue helping us serve those of whom Jesus said, “Permit the children to come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these” (Luke 18:16). — David

Parting Shot: Insect Inside...

Eating insects is quite common in the developing regions of Latin America, Africa and Asia. Over 1,000 insect species are known to be eaten by at least 3,000 ethnic groups living in 80% of the world’s nations. This little Kenyan girl didn’t actually eat her suspended cockroach…at least not while the photographer, Jeff Trotter, was looking!
