A Monk’s New Master

I hate my parents! The bitter words seethed deep within the heart of Duang Tawjan. How could they choose to leave Buddhism, the faith of our people, for a foreign religion? Although a teenager, Duang had already become a devoted Buddhist monk. When his parents told him that they had converted to Christianity, he felt that he had no choice but to disown them. It wasn't easy, however, especially in light of their efforts to maintain their relationship with him. And they were different people after their conversion. Their changed lives further fueled Duang's doubts about Buddhism, which were already being fed by the hypocrisy he witnessed at the monastery where he lived.

God’s Wonder Women

Knocking on doors and sharing the gospel in Muslim neighborhoods would strike fear into the hearts of most Westerners, who too often perceive all Muslims as enemies and terrorists. There are, however, some female followers of Jesus in South India who are not afraid to boldly carry the light of the truth into the darkness of Islam. They are God's "Wonder Women," and they work as servants of Bishara Mission Center, a ministry that is regularly supported by Heaven's Family. Five of Bishara's Wonder Women are Smitha, Akani, Kehkile, Keheusamiyile, and Mariathon (see photo above). God is using all five women to reach Muslims for His glory.

Christmas Arrest

It was early Sunday morning, the day after Christmas. Rasool and Maryam Abdolahi and their two children were sleeping peacefully. That all changed, however, in an instant. Without warning, plainclothes policemen broke through the front door of their Tehran apartment and stormed inside. As some of the police rummaged through their personal belongings searching for evidence of their faith, Rasool and Maryam were handcuffed and taken away—as their two children watched in horror.
