Sana Is Safe Now!

How a young girl became free from being trafficked by her own father

War, poverty, underemployment, and drug abuse have caused utter chaos in millions of Mexican children’s lives every single day. Kids are vulnerable to things no child should ever have to suffer!

Sana (not her real name) was raped by her father from when she was very young, but not only that, he sold her little body to other men! Her unthinkable sufferings would make you sick. Safe in our partner’s home, Sana is beginning to heal and now understands that she was made for more than the temporary pleasure of abusive men. She’d been used and discarded like an old needle, but now that she is safe from harm her heart of courage is beginning to emerge. Sana currently dreams of being a forensic scientist because she wants to help solve human trafficking crimes.

It’s so easy to take our safety for granted. In our daily, comfortable lives, we never experience having to crouch in a dark corner of a house, terrified of discovery by individuals whose consciences have been seared. Sana is thankful for the ability to breathe without fear, now that her father has been sentenced to prison for 70 years. She treasures the freedom to sleep in peace with a belly full of food. Arms of love gently hold her when she needs to cry, and she knows that she has worth.

Sana exudes safety and peace as she is hugged by our partner, Nicole.

Thank you for making all this possible for Sana and for so many others. We are grateful for you.

With so much love,
Burt and Patty
