Myanmar Trip Day 3 – He Should Have Listened…

Heading to Myanmar…please join me!

Dear Friends,

My husband, fellow Heaven’s Family staff member Jody, has been accompanying me on this trip, and today he learned a valuable lesson. Just because orphans at Mercy Orphanage can play soccer in their bare feet, doesn’t mean that he should! He bravely endured the rocks on the "playing field" for a short time, but the next morning he regretted his decision. Black-and-blue marks covered his feet, and his toes were a little bloodied—ample reminders that he should have heeded the little voice in his head telling him to wear shoes!

Not only did he bruise his feet, but his team lost the game as well—but the children sure enjoyed playing with him! Playing soccer (known as football here) is one of the children’s favorite pastimes.
