Myanmar Trip Day 4 – Still Rejoicing

New Eden Orphanage is a very happy place, indeed!

Dear Friends,

Earlier this year, tragedy struck New Eden Orphanage. One of their children, Lal Mawi, became very sick and passed away. Everyone was heartbroken.

When I visited the orphanage this week, everyone greeted me with a smile and life there seemed to be back to normal. I asked how everyone was doing these many months after the loss of Lal Mawi. The director’s face turned sad. His wife left for a minute to get a tissue for herself. I could tell the pain was still there. The director’s wife told me that Lal Mawi loved Jesus very much. Then they both smiled and told me they couldn’t wait to see her again one day in heaven.

I was reminded that the ultimate purpose of taking care of orphans is so that they will come to know Jesus. We praise God that Lal Mawi did just that.
