Not Forgetting Nepal

Returning to do more for earthquake victims

Dear Friends,

Between the havoc created by earthquakes in Nepal last spring and the terrible flooding over the summer in Myanmar, these past 6 months have kept me very busy. Together, you and I have been able to impact many lives, reminding them that, through it all, God still cares for them. Many hearts have been softened as well, and I’m encouraged to know many have been drawn closer to Jesus as a result of our efforts.

Another encouragement for me has been the unprecedented level of cooperation we’ve been able to orchestrate. Whenever possible we try to coordinate our efforts with others so that those who need help the most receive it. All to God’s glory!

In just a few days I’ll be heading back to Nepal to check up on Disaster Relief Ministry efforts these last few months, and strategize with our partners about ways we can move forward to empower the Nepali people to rebuild their broken nation. Civil unrest has followed the chaotic aftermath of the quake, so I ask for your prayers for safety and effective ministry. My wife Karin will be joining me, and together we’ll also spend time, as co-directors of the Human Trafficking & Slavery Ministry, finding ways we can partner with others in the fight to protect the most vulnerable—a task made more urgent because of social upheaval caused by the disaster.

After I return 3 weeks later, I’ll be enjoying the Thanksgiving holiday with my family and then heading out again—this time to Myanmar, where I’ll be witnessing the devastation caused by this summer’s floods. More importantly, I’ll be talking to some of the people whose lives have been helped by those of you who made sacrifices on their behalf.

I’m already looking forward to taking the photos and telling you the stories of what you’ve accomplished by your compassionate giving and praying, so stay tuned. If you’d like to further help victims of these disasters, you can give here I’ll carry those funds with me as I go.

See you on the road!

Because of Him,

Jeff Trotter
Director, Disaster Relief Ministry
