A Silent Rescue

A Silent Rescue

You helped rescue a missionary caught in a war zone

Dear Family,

Our partner Khamh is a National Missionary in war-torn Myanmar. Usually, people are “saved” or rescued due to his preaching of the Gospel. But for this most recent rescue, Khamh had to keep his mouth shut. I’ll let him explain.

“I visited all our missionaries at their places this month as our country’s situation worsens. The State we live in has become the most intense fighting area this month.

One of our missionaries, Ih Luu, was trapped in a war zone. Her town was ambushed by Northern Alliance Forces to fight against the coup military. More than 50,000 people were trapped inside the town. She didn’t know it, but I was coming to rescue her.

On our way there, my local guide asked me to play mute because I can’t speak Chinese. As we went through the checkpoint, I was angry about being disliked by Chinese soldiers for not being able to speak Chinese. This is Myanmar, not China. I wasn’t scared. My mind was to rescue Ih Luu as soon as possible. I had to play the mute and played my part very well.

Ih Luu Burst into tears as I rescued her. I also got her mom and church members to a safe place near their town. But Ih Luu came with me all the way back to our School in order to help me here during her stay. She will remain here until her area is safe to go back.”

Thank you for helping Khamh rescue Ih Luu. Your support has helped him train, send, and return her to his Bible School as a safe place. Please continue to pray for Khamh, his missionaries, his school, and Myanmar as the war continues.
