The Heaven’s Family Blog

About this blog:

Every month, Heaven’s Family helps far more people than we could ever highlight in our quarterly magazines. For that reason, this blog contains additional photos and stories of some of the “least of these” among our spiritual family whom we’ve recently been blessed to serve.

Happy to Learn

Adlight Sululuw was born in 2008 in a remote village of Saboti, Kenya. Her father died when she was six years old, leaving her mother as the sole breadwinner for Adlight and her three siblings. Her mom sent her to a Heaven’s Family-supported school in Kenya, hoping that Adlight could receive a high-quality education.

Rescued from the brink

Our ministry partner in Guatemala found Kevin lying alone at home crying, with a leaky diaper and soaking wet clothes. He suffers from severe cerebral palsy and spastic quadriplegia and was very malnourished. His family often left him alone during the day. The scars on his lungs suggest that they may even have tried to kill him with dangerous chemicals to relieve themselves of the burden of feeding him.

Rescued

Carla was among the most vulnerable people in her Guatemalan community. She had both physical and intellectual disabilities and absolutely no one to protect her. Unbelievably, the people who were supposed to be caring for her at the institution where she was living tied her to a gurney and sold her for sex!
