More Than Able

Are you ready to love the disabled?

Dear Family,

Children with disabilities are especially close to my heart. My Aunt Elizabeth was born with cerebral palsy. Blessed with a brilliant brain, she is currently attending college in her 40s. But she is living life in a wheelchair, and it is often difficult for others to understand when she speaks. Aunt Elizabeth is blessed to have the opportunity to attend school, despite her physical limitations. According to research conducted by UNICEF, “90% of children with disabilities in the developing world do not go to school.” After reading that statistic, I couldn’t help but believe that Heaven’s Family (you!) would want to be a part of changing it.

Recently the Education Ministry partnered with Daryl Fulp (a personal friend of mine) who runs two family-style homes for extremely disabled orphans in Guatemala. He has hired a teacher to assist the children in reaching their full potential. I hope you are as excited about this partnership as I am! I believe these kids are the heart of God. This is an incredible opportunity!
