Jesus Meeting Needs

Christian refugees in Iraq receive warmth, food and hope!

Dear Friends,

“And my God will meet all your needs…” Philippians 4:19 (NIV)

Mosul is a city of about 2.5 million people in Northern Iraq, occupied by ISIS since June of 2014. This city was historically and predominantly Christian—before terrorists invaded bringing with them death and destruction. When Christians fled Mosul they didn’t have time to bring with them even the basic of necessities.

Many of the Christians who fled Mosul found refuge in the city of Irbil, Kurdistan. Although now safe, many are still unable to provide for themselves and their families as thousands of unemployed refugees are competing for scarce jobs. Because of this, many suffer from severe poverty and overwhelming loss.

In one of the refugee settlements we were able to provide ovens and mixers, which gave a few people the job of baking bread for their neighbors. The smell of bread baking throughout the camp brought a certain sense of peace—and there is usually much joy when the bread is distributed.

The Refugee Ministry of Heaven’s Family has helped with supplying these refugees, and displaced persons, with desperately needed supplies and medical attention. We even supplied a group of Christian refugees with blankets to keep warm, flour to bake bread, and basic ingredients to provide nourishment.

Because of your generous gifts to the Refugee Ministry, people have been provided with warmth, nourishment, joy and hope! But most importantly, you have blessed hopeless refugees with the gift of seeing God at work to supply their needs—and may He receive all the glory!

Blessings,

Becky Servant
Director, Refugee Ministry
